Update: Oak Knoll Trail Dig Day Moved to February 4
Mount Diablo Trails Alliance is proud to share the UPDATED California State Parks schedule of Dig Days at Mount Diablo State Park. Due to soil conditions and rainy season, the Oak Knoll Trail Dig Day has been moved up to Sunday, February 4th, and the Lower Summit Trail Dig Day has been moved to Sunday, March 24th.
Camel Rock Trail - Extraordinary Efforts Overcome Cold, Rain and Mud
On January 6, 2024, California State Parks, in partnership with Mount Diablo Trails Alliance as a promotional supporter, hosted a Dig Day on Camel Rock Trail at Mount Diablo State Park. Twenty-eight (28) volunteers of all ages and trail user interests joined, helping repair storm-damaged trail tread, one landslide, and two creek crossing washouts.

Oyster Point Trail - Incredible Effort
On December 10, 2023, California State Parks, in partnership with Mount Diablo Trails Alliance as a promotional supporter, hosted a Dig Day on Oyster Point Trail. Thirty (30) volunteers of all ages and trail user interests joined, helping repair 0.35 miles of trail tread in one day.
Secret Trail - Grateful Day
On December 3, 2023, California State Parks, in partnership with Mount Diablo Trails Alliance as a promotional supporter, hosted a Dig Day on Secret Trail. Thirty-seven (37) volunteers of all ages and trail user interests joined, helping finish a major trail repairs/maintenance project in one day.
Sunset Trail - The Finale
On November 17 and 19, 2023, California State Parks, in partnership with Mount Diablo Trails Alliance as a promotional supporter, organized a Dig Day that attracted 36 volunteers to complete the major trail repairs/maintenance project on Sunset Trail, focusing on trail user safety and ecological preservation.

On October 14, 2023, California State Parks, in partnership with Mount Diablo Trails Alliance as a promotional supporter, organized 11 volunteers to commence tread repairs and construct armored drain swales on Sunset Trail.
